Overview

VSR & ELS PhD School 2023 will be hosted by the Amsterdam School of Law. The PhD-school will take place on Tuesday the 4th of July and Wednesday the 5th of July 2023 in Amsterdam.

Description

This will be the second year the Dutch and Flemisch Law and Society Association (the VSR) and the sectorplan Empirical Legal Studies (ELS) organises a PhD school. During the PhD school PhD’s get the opportunity to take workshops given by senior researchers and every day a key-note will be given.

This year the school will take place over two days. The first day will focus on methods and the second day on the world of academia. As a PhD you can participate in both days, but also in solely one if that has your preference. Immediately after the PhD school the VSR’s annual conference takes place at the University of Amsterdam at the same location.

Timing

Organised on July 4th and July 5th, 2023, the VSR & ELS PhD School is timed to take place immediately prior to the VSR Annual Conference. Both are hosted by the University of Amsterdam and will take place at the Law School. There is ample of opportunity to participate in both events.

Application.

You can apply for the PhD schools by submitting a short introduction into your research and the stage you are in. Then you are asked to indicate if you will participate in both days or just one and if only one day which day.

When you apply for both days we will ask a fee of 50 euros. If you apply for one day the fee will be 30 euros. We have space for a maximum of 40 participants, where we will give priority to PhD’s who participate in both days of the PhD school.
