This workshop aims to equip participants with essential skills in data analysis, visualization, and interpretation. We will briefly introduce analysis of quantitative data, after which participants will learn to interpret descriptive statistics and create compelling visualizations. We will focus on best practices for designing impactful graphs and charts that convey data insights effectively. Through examples and exercises, participants will gain practical experience in applying visualization techniques to their own research.
This workshop is ideal for researchers seeking to enhance their ability to analyse, interpret, and visualize quantitative data in the field of empirical legal studies. Participants will start with some simple yet fast graphs in Excel, before moving to more advanced graphs in Excel, and finally, they will try visualization in JASP, as a free alternative to SPSS

ABOUT THE LECTURERS:
Peter van der Zwan conducts empirical research in the field of entrepreneurship and teaches the course Business Analytics at Leiden Law School. He has a background in econometrics.
PREREQUISITES: No prior knowledge is required. Please bring your laptop with Excel and JASP installed.
